ECHO (Every Cold-Hearted Oxygen)
ECHO (Every Cold-Hearted Oxygen) Written by Nassim Soleimanpour Directed by Omar Elerian
24 – 26 July
A mysterious night at the theatre — where anything could happen.
Imagine arriving at the theatre not knowing what will happen on stage. The performer doesn’t know what will be asked of them. And no one—not even the actor—knows how the evening will unfold. Past performances overseas have seen the likes of Emilia Clarke, Meera Syal, Fiona Shaw and Benedict Wong take the stage. That’s the magic of ECHO, a bold and captivating new work from acclaimed Iranian playwright Nassim Soleimanpour (White Rabbit, Red Rabbit). Each performance features a different actor, stepping onto the stage for the first time, with the script waiting in a sealed envelope. No rehearsals. No preparation. Just pure theatre—raw, elegant, and utterly unpredictable. As the story unfolds, a great mystery is revealed. Is the playwright really speaking to us live from Berlin? Or is something else going on? ECHO is a theatrical puzzle that will keep you thinking long after the lights go down. For those who enjoy beautiful storytelling with a touch of intrigue, ECHO promises a night of suspense, surprise, and something truly one-of-a-kind. CAST ANNOUNCED: Fayssal Bazzi (Stateless, Late Night with the Devil, Measure for Measure, The Merger) is an acclaimed Australian actor, and recipient of the AACTA Award for Best Lead Actor in a Television Drama. Paula Arundell (Love My Way, Gods of Egypt, Late Night with the Devil, Reckoning) is a versatile Australian actress and singer, who most recently earned a Helpmann Award nomination for her role as Hermione in Harry Potter and the Cursed Child.Benjamin Law (The Family Law, Wellmania, Stop Everything!) is a beloved Australian author, screenwriter, and journalist, best known for his hit memoir and TV adaptation The Family Law and as the longtime host of Stop Everything! on ABC Radio National.
